/Driven past lots of times and finally decided to try The Raj, and wished we have visited sooner Really friendly staff, spotlessly clean and the service and food ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, Hot and tasty, good size portions and great selection catering for all tastes, mild to wild, great price too we will definitely be returning Thanks for a lovely evening Eamonn and Heidi. The food was very tasty and the service was first class, helpful and very friendly. Portions are generous and there's a decent selection of dishes. Price wise similar to other local Indian restaurants and takeaways with a discount for takeaways. The quality of the food and portion size makes it good value for money. Also if you feel like trying a new dish rather than the same thing you've been ordering for years but you're worried about running the risk of being disappointed, talk to the staff and ask for advice. They will be pleased to let you know what the different dishes are like and help you make a good informed choice. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A very friendly welcoming atmosphere. I normally go for the more classic hot Indian dishes but one caught my eye that I have never seen before, Lamb Kashmir a mild, creamy, slightly sweet curry cooked with lychees, a unique mix of very subtle flavours. It is certainly a dish I would have again and definitely recommend. My partner is vegetarian and she had Mushroom Biryani dish. We also shared Onion Bhaji and a Garlic Naan. By the end of the meal we were full and still had some to take home. We were served by the owner who is obviously very proud of his restaurant and rightly so. The 3 dining rooms are well decorated and the restrooms are a massive improvement to what had been there during its sojourn as a pub. Overall a very enjoyable experience I would recommend. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection Vegetarian options: A wide range of vegetarian options in both starters and main dishes as well as a great selection of side dishes, most mains can be ordered as vegetarian.
