We travelled to Newnham for a lovely walk so we decided to pop in to the Romer Arms for a coffee. As I am Portuguese i was excited to see that it was ran by a Portuguese couple. We booked a table for the following week, i just had to try their menu as it took me back to my childhood. I was so glad that we did go back as the food was delicious the portions were big and full of flavour. We will most definitely return. A lovely village pub which is popular with the locals and beyond. Unique Portuguese food menu, with plenty of fish dishes and other specialities. Long established couple are very hospitable, but the real boss occupies a chair in the bar, by the wood burning fire. Lovely garden, including sheltered seating. The Romer is close to the Nuttery, which has a large area of snowdrops (some for sale), as well as being a cobnut orchard. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
