Lovely setting, beautiful food. Lovely staff. Excellent service. Special mention to Graeme, Restaurant Manager, who sourced a wheelchair for my mother in law, much appreciated **********. Fabulous restaurant in a stunning setting overlooking the Open Old Course at Carnoustie. We were a table of six, and the service was absolutely second to none - friendly and incredibly professional from start to finish. The food was outstanding. For starters, the minestrone soup was genuinely the best I’ve ever tasted, and the Cullen skink was rich and beautifully done. The mussels were also fabulous, cooked to perfection. Mains were just as impressive. We had fish and chips, and my parents, who are notoriously hard to please, declared it top class and the best they’ve ever had. That alone tells you how exceptional it was. The chicken burgers were packed with flavour, coated in a breadcrumb unlike anything I’ve had before, it added a brilliant texture and really lifted the whole dish. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, and the cous cous was light, fresh and delicious. A top‑class restaurant in a truly tremendous setting. Highly recommend. Fell into the Rookery as next nearest after disappointing food & drink service at the adjacent hotel. Staff were friendly & helpful, food was good with very generous servings. The platters and salads are really good. Charming vibe with relaxing views across the links, once we got over the unusual interior decor. For food and drink it's a preferable proposition to the hotel, staff attitudes are totally different and better for it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Other Price per person: £30–40
