The first time I visited we went with another couple and their child, and the food and service were fantastic with an amazing atmosphere, the service was not up to the same high standards as our previous experience. The service was slow, and I had to wait a long time for my food. However, when I made a complaint, I was pleasantly surprised by the owner's response. Katie called me personally to apologize and offer me a complimentary dinner for my next visit. This level of customer service was truly impressive, and it made me feel valued as a customer. Upon reflection of our second visit, it seems that the slow service was likely due to the restaurant's popularity and how busy it was, which is understandable given the fantastic food and atmosphere that The Smokehouse offers.
On my most recent visit, the food was absolutely amazing. The southern style American diner food was heavenly, and the attention to detail was clear in every dish. The food we had at The Smokehouse was nothing short of delicious. I ordered the mixed grill which was a huge portion consisting of a 6oz rump steak, lamb chop, pork steak, chicken fillet, and gammon steak, accompanied by dirty fries and coleslaw. It was so filling that for once, I was unable to finish it and it had "defeated me". My partner ordered the 16oz "juicy" rump steak which was cooked to perfection, and my usually fussy daughter devoured the fish fingers, fries, and even stole some of my food. The service was quick and attentive, and we felt truly looked after throughout my meal. And the best part? The food was free, just as promised by Katie during her call.
One of the things that sets The Smokehouse apart from other restaurants in the area is its unique atmosphere. The back yard area is spacious and lively, with live bands and unique American cars on display for customers to admire. And let's not forget the impressive selection of lagers, gins, rums, and cocktails on offer.
Overall, my experience at The Smokehouse was nothing short of fantastic. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch, and the level of customer service was truly outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal and a fun night out and I can confidently say that me and my family will definitely be returning soon for another mouth-watering meal.. Five stars all the way!
