The last time I visited the sphinx was 15 years ago and got the same meal today as then chicken on chips and pretty much nothing has changed, except my old taste buds aren't as able for the grub but still if your passing worth getting. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Over £27 for lots of sauce on a kebab and chicken kebab. Thats what my wife and I paid on Saturday night and half went in the bin. Kebab might was OK. Chicken used to be big slices, but now was tiny slithers that struck me as chopped up chicken gougons that had been refried. So much sauce it was running off the meat, across the paper and dripping in your lap. And the sauce tasted different. Hard to know what it was but it definitely left a taste that never had before. Sphinx may have awards, but having eaten their kebabs for years, the cost has gone sky high and quality now gone to be replaced with a big portion of blah. Used to be a favourite, but never again. Don't know why this place has had a spate of negative reviews recently. Ate here tonight. Got a steak kebab, smash burger meal and chicken goujans as well as a bottle of Sphinx sauce. Yes it was really pricey at £36 however, the food and the service were really good. I've knocked 1 star off due to the price however, I would definitely return again! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
