God knows why I tried so hard to book up, the place was dead, occupied by a sad looking couple who stared at us as we waited an eternity at the counter to be seated, and another table who were complaining about the sauce on their steak. I had that sinking feeling in my chest, and if I hadn't already paid for this dinner, I would have grabbed the mister and bailed there and then. Just as things were getting painfully awkward, we were greeted, seated, and given menus.
The place looks impromptu. Like a pop-up restaurant. Or a work-in-progress. It's cold, has no atmosphere, and strange-looking vents on the ceiling, most likely from the previous business who occupied this lonely space. We ordered. Scallops and satay for entree. Steak and fish and chips for mains. A waiter ended up having to run out to the shops to pick up my partner's iced-tea (wtf?). As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the scallops were tiny. One could inhale them if they tried hard enough. My satay was not too foul, something like I would expect from a decent Year10 home economics class. The mister's steak was full of gristle, and came with the wrong sauce (déjà vu much?), and his mashed potato was lumpy. My fish and chips were actually pretty nice. Blindingly similar to my local fish and chips I get down the road. Deep fried, oily goodness. I do like a wedge of lemon with my seafood, and when I requested this to the waiter, he came back with a sauce dish of lemon juice (lol) and said that is all they've got. I find it bizarre that a restaurant has no lemons, but hey, the night was a big joke by now, so I just waved it off and continued to polish off my dinner.
Look, the service isn't bad, I can see that the waiter's are trying, I just don't think they know what is going on. And I don't think the chef/s should be cooking for a career. We came here in the hopes of some decent meat and seafood, and every little aspect of this experience was just plain weird. Oh, and I forgot to mention how often I caught one of the waiters standing at the till staring at me. It's very off-putting. Please stop.

Rib Eye with Pepper Sauce. The portion size is ample. The steak was cooked as requested and very tender. I requested vegetables and these were cooked just right so they were still firm. Best isthe actual pepper sauce-tasty with a bit of a bite. Yum.
