I went in here late at night so it was quite but the landlord and the bar lady came over to chat which I found really nice

I stopped by The Talbot Pub and honestly the place feels like it’s heading in the wrong direction. You can really sense the influence of all this so‑called “reform” happening around the area, and from my point of view it’s not a positive change at all. To me, it feels tied to the rise of Reform UK — a party I personally see as far‑right and pushing ideas I strongly disagree with. The atmosphere in the pub used to feel welcoming, but now it feels tense and divided, like the place is being pulled into the same negativity that’s been creeping into local politics. Instead of bringing people together, the vibe feels more closed‑off and uncomfortable. The staff were fine and the drinks were okay, but the overall environment just didn’t sit right with me. If this is the direction things are going, I’m not sure it’s a place I’d want to return to
