Quite impressive how seriously this restaurant takes the label “fine dining” while seemingly overlooking the dining part itself. We were very clearly informed when booking that our table was strictly limited to 1.5 hours, which made it particularly amusing that we spent more than 1.5 hours simply waiting for the food to arrive. Apparently, the time limit applies to the guests, not the kitchen. The staff’s attitude was equally memorable, although unfortunately not for their hospitality or professionalism. The food itself was remarkably average, which only made the confidence and sense of superiority surrounding the whole experience even more puzzling. Fine dining usually involves excellent food, attentive service, and attention to detail. Here, the most convincing part of the fine-dining experience seemed to be how proudly they called themselves fine dining. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $120–140

We were dining with our young one and the team could not have been more accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble, and the service was fantastic from start to finish. Start with the bread and butter service, house saltbush focaccia with cultured butter, macadamia, buffalo ricotta and wildflower honey. It sets the tone for the rest of the meal. For mains, the Whole Roasted Dry Aged Duck Crown was the standout, and the O’Connors MB3 Scotch Fillet (400g) was cooked perfectly. Both are well worth ordering. Great food, a relaxed atmosphere and a team that looks after families properly. It would be perfect for dinner with friends too. Tilda also accepts Accor Plus, which makes it even better value. Well done to the whole team, we would happily go back and recommend it to anyone.
