Very disappointing customer service experience I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at this Tim Hortons in Walkerton was extremely disappointing. The young staff member who served me was incredibly rude, dismissive, and seemed genuinely irritated to be interacting with customers. I understand that he is young teenager and may be having a difficult day, but that does not excuse speaking to customers disrespectfully. When I asked for a sleeve for my drink, the attitude I received was unnecessarily rude and made a simple request feel like an inconvenience. What made the experience even worse was the handling of my order. My drink had apparently been ready, but no one called out my order. I waited approximately 30 minutes, only to discover that the drink had been sitting there. The employee then appeared to forget that I had already placed my order and asked me to place it again. By the time I received it, my frozen drink had essentially melted into water and was not enjoyable at all. More concerning to me was the way I felt I was being treated because of my race/skin colour. The interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, and unfortunately, another young staff member also came across as rude and arrogant. Whether intentional or not, customers should never be made to feel that they are being treated differently because of where they come from or what they look like. Being a small-town community, Walkerton should be a welcoming place for everyone—including visitors and people from different backgrounds who come to spend a weekend, support local businesses, and enjoy the community. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and reminds staff that basic courtesy, respect, and kindness are not optional when working in customer service. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity. I won't be returning to this location based on this experience. I hope the staff member takes the opportunity to learn from this and understand that the way you speak to people matters—regardless of their age, background, or appearance.
