There are restaurants that serve great food, and then there are places that make you feel like you’ve been part of the family for years. Toasted Cafe is one of those rare places. A few friends and I stopped in after a workout this weekend, hungry and looking for a good breakfast. It was our first time visiting, and from the moment we walked through the door we were welcomed with genuine kindness. The owner greeted us personally, showed us to our table, and our waitress was warm, funny, and had us laughing throughout our meal. The food was absolutely incredible, but what I’ll remember most is the hospitality. When the owner found out it was our first visit, he brought us homemade baklava and spinach pie to try—just because he wanted us to experience a little more of what they had to offer. It’s such a simple gesture, but it spoke volumes about the kind of people they are. In a world where so many places just want to get you in and out, Toasted Cafe made us feel like guests in their home. The restaurant was spotless, the atmosphere was welcoming and family-oriented, and every single person at our table loved their meal. By the time we left, it felt like we had discovered one of Margate’s best-kept secrets. It’s easy to find good food, but it’s much harder to find people who genuinely care about their customers. That’s what won us over. Toasted Cafe isn’t just another breakfast and lunch spot—it’s the kind of place that reminds you why supporting local businesses matters. We’ll absolutely be back, and I hope more people in Margate discover this hidden gem. If you want delicious homemade food, outstanding service, and hospitality that comes straight from the heart, Toasted Cafe deserves a visit.
