I was genuinely shocked by my experience here. If I could rate it a 0, I would. The meat was unbelievably sweet and tasted nothing like traditional shawarma seasoning. It honestly felt more like a dessert than a savory meal. They might as well rename it “Dessert Bashka” because if you’ve ever dreamed of eating meat that tastes like it was glazed for a donut, this is the place for you. The fries were disappointing too. They tasted like they were cooked in oil that had not been changed in years. You know when fries have that heavy, stale aftertaste that ruins the whole bite? That was exactly it. The dining experience was also uncomfortable. The staff seemed to stare at us the entire time we were eating, which made it feel less like a restaurant and more like we were being watched in a prison cafeteria. The bathroom itself appeared clean at first glance, but the trash can was overflowing like it had been working overtime with no break. It gave the same energy as a clean room with one giant mess in the corner that nobody wanted to deal with. Overall, this was not an enjoyable experience at all. I would not recommend going unless you are craving sweet meat for dessert, fries with a side of ancient oil, and an awkward dining experience to top it all off. you’re serious about shawarma, this place is worth the trip. I live in Bridgeview, Illinois, and I literally drive out of my way just to eat at Top Shawarma. That’s how good it is. From the first bite, you can tell everything is made with care — perfectly seasoned meat, fresh bread, crisp vegetables, and sauces that are on another level. The shawarma is juicy, flavorful, and cooked exactly the way it should be. The garlic sauce alone is addictive. Every plate tastes authentic, fresh, and consistent every single time I go. I’ve tried shawarma all over the country, and nothing compares to this place. Hands down, the best shawarma in America. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and the quality never disappoints.
