I am extremely disappointed as I am currently recovering from surgery and unable to travel, so my nephew kindly went to top Taste this Jamaican restaurant on North 52nd Street in Philadelphia after I found it online due to its proximity. I had him ordered me pepper steak with rice and peas, cabbage, and candied yams. What I received was completely unacceptable. The pepper steak was burnt and inedible, the candied yams were dry, and the cabbage was thrown on the platter on the side was the rice with NO gravy, NO flavor, and clearly NO care put into the meal!!! To make matters worse, I attempted multiple times to contact the restaurant to address the issues, but no one answered. The phone rang continuously and went to a full voicemail box when it didn't ring busy, making it impossible to even leave a message. This experience was not only frustrating but disheartening. No one should be served food of this quality, especially when supporting a local business. This level of service and lack of accountability is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the establishment and the community it serves. This place needs to be held accountable. If you care about quality food and basic customer service, take your business elsewhere. I strongly urge others to think twice before ordering from here until they fix both their food quality and their communication!!! Always cancels my order on DoorDash cause they don’t have what I want like just go on the app and mark it as out of stock! Now I have to wait 3 days to get $40 back AGAIN! forget this place man.
