Great food but the service was a let down. We booked a table for 4 last night for a celebratory meal. Myself and my partner got there first and decided we’d order drinks for the 4 of us. We were told there was no lager on tap and they were due to run out of the only other bottled lager too. We settled for 3 ciders, on tap, and the last bottle of Budweiser. We ordered our food with the pleasant front of house staff member but were told they had also ran out of a few items on the menu, however these weren’t items we would have chosen so it didn’t affect us. The starters came, lovely cheesy garlic bread, crispy potato skins minus the dip that had to be requested, the 2 portions of mussels that came with the wrong sauce despite the order being written correctly - these were promptly swapped. For the mains we ordered 3 hanging chicken kebabs and 1 spicy parmo. All meals looked and tasted fab however the side salads simply consisted of bowls of tomato and red onion, they must have ran out of salad. We requested more cutlery and napkins as the previous ones had been used and disposed of with the starters plates only to be told that they’d ran out of napkins….Kleenex to the rescue from our own pockets and bags. My partner visited the toilets and remarked that the taps didn’t work in the wash basins. Hand gel from the handbags to the rescue. The staff member seemed quite embarrassed that things were going wrong for our table. We ordered some more ciders and a gin and tonic but received gin and lemonade but they didn’t seem bothered when we asked for it to be swapped. After the mains we asked for the bill which arrived including 3 mints between the 4 of us. We asked to speak to the manager as we were quite disappointed over the lack of attention seemingly paid to running a dining establishment and simply managing to maintain adequate stock. The manager/chef didn’t really appear to think there was an issue and didn’t even offer to take off a round of drinks for our troubles. We won’t be rushing back here.
