sent my husband to buy me some crabs and have them steamed. Aside from them being pricey-we opted to move forward as I really wanted the crabs. That's NOT my complaint. My complaint is that after buying snow crab legs and Live Blue claw crabs for a total of $36.00 they had the NERVE to charge $6 to steam them. All i can say is they are lucky I wasn't there bc I would have left them right there. I have been to MULTIPLE fish markets that steam fish/veggies... even Western BEEF on Dutch Broadway and have NEVER been charged for steaming anything (further out LI, BK, BX, HARLEM-NOWHERE)-especially since your purchasing the fish from the same locations. Sooooo will they start charging to FRY the fish also?? A bit ridiculous and how can you charge to steam and not to fry? A joke.. Guess just as quick as you had me as a customer you lost me.

Where do I even begin. Okay, so I walked inside and was kindly greeted by one of the brothers. I ordered a small order of shrimp, carrots, potatoes, and broccoli, all to be steamed. Surprisingly he also asked me what kind of seasoning I wanted, meaning they have choices. Such as old bay, fresh garlic or lemon pepper (I chose old bay and garlic butter.) I knew it would take about 20-30 minutes from previous steam spots I've been too, so I just sat and waited. (They have about 4-5 chairs in front of the register.) Once my food was done I paid and went home. (Paid about $13 plus a fee for using debit so I would suggest cash only.) When I got home and opened my container, I noticed something they do differently and I greatly appreciated it. Two Brothers keeps the food in a steam bag, so the food stays hot & the juices aren't spilling in the bag. Oh yeah! & Everything tasted great.

When places you love change.. THEY CHARGE TAX NOW, UGH. We used to have a few places us high school kids could eat at across the street: Village Pizza (now Pizza Plus), that chinese food place (New China Dragon Kitchen), and this place: the village fish market. Owners have changed, now called: Two Brothers Fish Market Breading on the fish shrimp and scallops have changed. Not as flavorful. Fried seafood is not as juicy as when I had under previous owners. You can still get decent fried seafood here for really cheap, but it used to be wayy better. No more house tartar sauce (it was so good, now its packets) and no more containers to take sauce to go :/ The place does look cleaner and the plethora of fish (salmon, snapper, crabmeat, lobster tails, whole scallops, de-veined shrimp, etc) looks very high quality. They even had blue crabs that day, which was impressive. 1 star for food served here, 4 for the actual fish market
