I have been a regular, loyal customer of this fish and chip shop for several years, since it was "Cod Rocks" (before a change of management and name). I will not be patronising this fish and chip shop any more, however. I usually order a seafood basket for one, which has always comprised fish, chips, two prawns, two squid rings and two crabsticks. Last night I ordered this and was not informed that the "contents" had been slashed to a smaller piece of fish, chips, one prawn, one squid ring and one crabstick. This changed it from being reasonable value for money to being overpriced. Very disappointing. Part of the small piece of fish had a slightly "off" flavour. Last night and this morning I had abdominal cramps and diarrhoea, which may or may not be related to the "off" tasting fish. It is so sad to see the standards and value for money drop so much since it was "Cod Rocks". Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

We genuinely appreciate that you’ve been a loyal customer since the Cod Rocks days, and it’s disappointing for us to hear that we let you down on this occasion. The seafood basket has recently been adjusted due to ongoing increases in seafood costs, but we understand that this should have been clearly communicated when you placed your order. We apologise if that wasn’t explained properly. The price for the Seafood Basket for 1 is less than the original seafood basket and we now do a Seafood Basket for 2 which is slightly more than the original, but includes 2 pieces of fish. We’re also concerned to hear that you thought the fish tasted “off” and that you’ve been feeling unwell. Food quality and safety are extremely important to us, and we take comments like this very seriously. All of our seafood is prepared fresh, but I will absolutely look into this further. If you’re willing, please contact us directly at the shop so we can discuss this with you and make it right. Your feedback is important and helps us improve.
