Just meh. In fact, "meh" is quite generous. The pizza crust is very good, but the crust is where it ends. The slice itself has literally zero flavor, which can only mean the ingredients are not up to par. Decent eggplant parmigiana hero but absolutely stay clear of the meatballs. They literally are reminiscent of Alpo or Laddie Boy. The most glaringly amusing thing though is the fact that, as basically a pizza joint, albeit a large one with several tables, they have dishes advertised on chalkboards that are exorbitantly high in price--I'm talking in the $30+ range, and it's as odd and incongruous as when a diner has menu items that cost as much. I mean, who goes to a diner for a steak? Well, the same logic applies at Vittorio's. Got a meatball hero to go. I asked the kid at the counter to make sure they cut it evenly because I was going to share it with someone. Naturally, when we unwrapped the hero, there were 2 pieces--one, about 5" long, and the other no more than 3" long. But in the end it didn't matter. We removed the meatballs, which, again, resembled dog food, both visually and in taste and texture, saved them for the dog (no, REALLY), and took some salami from the fridge and made a salami hero because the hero roll was perfectly toasted. They have no trouble getting the outside right--only the filling of the sandwich. Kinda like the pizza--crust good, topping bad. Frankly, I'd steer clear...unless you just like bread. They can definitely get the bread part right.
