Such a shame. We had been to Wander some time ago and had such an excellent time so much that we had recommended it to friends and when we heard Wander was closing we wanted to visit one last time. However we were thoroughly disappointed this time. We were met by a frosty and visibly irritable owner. We ordered one vegetarian and one normal in advance. On the day when we mentioned I couldn't eat parmesan as he is vegetarian and it has rennet in), the owner visibly rolled her eyes at us. We understand that not everyone is as strict a vegetarian as this and we also understand parmesan is a big part of Italian food (Wander were serving an italian menu at the time, although as they change their menu weekly and we had booked a month prior, we were not aware until the day). We also understand that as a small restaurant Wander may be unable to make last minute changes to the menu. However there is absolutely no need for the owner to roll her eyes at us and give us a lecture about what reasons for not eating certain things. She made us feel very uncomfortable and we even tried to apologise to her later explaining that we were not trying to make her life difficult but then was met with "I only came here to ask if you wanted drinks". I must say we stayed because the food is delicious but the service was just not what we had expected. Amazing tasting menu that changes every week or so. Prepared and served by one woman only on plates made by herself too. Can’t get more unique and special than that! Enjoyed every single course we had. Full of flavour, well executed, quick service. Really sad she is leaving London end of May as I think this place will be missed by many. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A really interesting experience, what could have be a positively unforgettable experience was turned into a strangely negative one. Firstly, the food is incredible. Secondly, the owner/chef/FOH/dishy/sommelier/bartender/food-runner does an incredible job at managing the service in its entirety, but unfortunately at the expense of any warmth or semblance of customer service. As with a previous reviews, I arrived 10mins early to be greeted with a cold and blunt ‘you need to come back at 9pm!’, (half the restaurant is empty and it’s windy and raining outside) back outside I go. Not a good start. From here I constantly felt like I was treading on eggshells, questions were answered with zero hospitality and I just felt like I was annoying the owner the entire time. Worth a visit, but expect a novel experience. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £60–70 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
