I’ve been coming here for 20 + years.. I’m so disappointed they have gotten rid of baked potato’s and wait for it.. if you want potatoes say fries or mashed it’s an add on in addition the service is slow and they don’t care about hospitality. After 25 years… me and my family will not be back. I hope your cuts of cheap potatoes and service providers helps you succeed but I bet it is the opposite result.

Good wine, couple ccktails for dinner, lots of diverse food options and the prices were reasonable. Outdoor playground for kids, dog friendly patio, and everyone was super friendly.

My wife and I spent three nights in Manson last weekend to celebrate our 45th anniversary. As we visited several wineries that weekend we would ask where we should go for our anniversary dinner. The advice was consistent. If we want to dine in Manson, then have dinner at the “Wapato Point Cellars & The Winemakers Grill”. We were told that this is the special place to go for special occasions. We were looking forward to that dinner. We were seated at 5:30 Sunday evening and were somewhat surprised that there were no “white tablecloths”. We had been told it was that kind of place. No big deal. The place was not busy, and our drink and dinner orders were quickly taken. We each got the wedge salad ($3 up-sell) and were very happy with that. I ordered the 14-ounce Rib Eye steak ($60), a favorite that we grill for special occasions at home. My wife got the Herb Crusted Halibut ($45). We both ordered the loaded baked potato ($5 up-sell) and it was very good. We were both so terribly disappointed with our dinners. The halibut was overcooked (tough, dry) and there was no “crust”. It was bathed in some sort of oily sauce that did nothing to improve the halibut. Halibut can be really good if crusted with parmesan or panko breadcrumbs. But to smother it in oil, perhaps to cover the fact it was overcooked, ruined it. She ate half and left the rest. Without complaint. My steak that I had looked forward to all day was terrible. There is no other word for what I was served. It had not been trimmed at all and was very fatty. I love a well marbled rib eye and can eat a proper rib eye without leaving a trace on my plate. With this steak (maybe not a ribeye ??) I left probably a ¼ of it on the plate as fat and gristle. There was connecting tissue in the steak that defied cutting! Four tries with the steak knife to get thru it. Flavor-wise I give it a C, just average. I do not remember our server coming around to check on us until we were done. He took my wife’s plate without asking if she was happy with the meal. Apparently, he did not notice that she had left ½ of halibut on her plate (the baked potato was gone). That is unforgivable at a restaurant that wants to charge these kinds of prices. I told him the steak was terrible. I don’t know if he asked why but I told him. I think I asked if maybe it was a select grade (or less) sirloin because it could not have been a choice or prime steak of any kind. He promised to “make it right” and left. He came back with a dessert menu. Are you kidding??? Still looking for another upsell?? No thanks. When he brought the bill, he showed where it had been reduced by $13. I have no idea where that number came from. We paid the $137 bill and left. On the way out I made sure the front desk knew what I thought of their $60 steak. And told those coming in for dinner not to order the rib eye. Note that the “older couple” sitting next to us and apparently frequent diners there, said get the chicken. It is always good. Wish we had known. Or maybe just get wedge salad and baked potato.
