Went today, sign said open, voicemail said open, yelp said open, but website down & they were closed. Sign in window indicates possible change of ownership?  Would be nice if they updated their outgoing voicemail message at least.

We went to Toast Cafe for breakfast/brunch on Memorial Day.  Since I am quite capable of making a very good bacon/egg/pancake or omelet breakfast at home, I never order these types of dishes at a restaurant.  For American breakfast/brunch, I typically narrow my search to restaurants that serve eggs benedict.  Toast Cafe regularly serves eggs benedict for breakfast/brunch, as well as mimosas.  Truly, there was nothing wrong with the eggs benedict, but there was also nothing that made them stand out in any way.  The eggs were poached perfectly.  The hollandaise sauce was not too creamy, which is fine for me, and was not overpowered by lemon.  That said, the hollandaise sauce was also quite unremarkable and had no color - just a bland yellow.  Sprinkling some parsley or paprika would have helped.  The side of potatoes was a little undercooked and lacked flavor.  The fruit bowl was not bad.  The mimosas were good.  Service was a bit slow, which was not a problem because we were not in a rush - but may have been annoying if we had other plans. I have read comments that the restaurant is dirty.  I do not agree.  I think the restaurant is a bit dated, which may give the appearance of an untidy/dirty establishment.  The bathroom is located outside of the restaurant and, I believe, it is shared by the other businesses.  Bathrooms were fairly clean. Overall, Toast Cafe provides decent food and a fair price.  I would go back if I was in Mill Valley and my other preferred brunch spot was closed - as they were on Memorial Day.  But I would not make any special trips to do so.
