jeez this plaaaceee. i used to live in the area, and this was my go to spot. i stopped coming here a around the pandemic because one day i ordered lunch, and became violently ill. i literally projectile vomited in my car and went to the ER. i didn’t say any of this to the restaurant at the time, i just collected my L and stopped going there. fast forward to today, i was in the area, and loved how they revamped everything. my first time back in years! i walked in, and wasn’t greeted. no worries, i asked a waiter there if i could place a to go order. without acknowledging me, he said “do you know what you want?” okay, a little rude but no worries. “can i have a menu please?” he glanced my way and said “in a minute” alright lol. i sat at the bar and he came by take my order. i ordered the chicken laap, mango sticky rice, and a side of jeow som and steamed rice. around a $32 order. 10-12 mins later, my food comes out, it’s in clear containers so i saw my order was correct. i get home about 25-30 mins later, and lo and behind, there is a whole gnat in my chicken laap. i immediately call them and let them know what happened. this is so disappointing and discouraging. i love laotian food! i was refunded, and had to throw away the entire order. if the main course is contaminated, you can’t trust anything in that kitchen. so beyond disappointed. yall please be safe out there. there will be no more chances given. i’m so sad one of the few laotian restaurants has been so inconsistent. You can find Wild Ginger Thai Cuisine at 2201 Savoy Dr, Atlanta, GA 30341, this is the access road that parallel's I285 across the North-Eastern arch, inside the perimeter between N. Peachtree Rd and Chamblee-Dunwoody Rd (the access road North of the perimeter is Cotillion). Wild Ginger is in a small cluster of buildings near N. Peachtree Rd just before it turns into the access ramp to I285 East. Parking is in the front or anywhere you can find a space.
