We visited Athens, from Crete, for a couple of days and thought that it was a good opportunity to try African cuisine for the first time, as there aren't any restaurants like these where we come from. Whith that said, I have to now give praise, where praise is due. The store is family owned, with a really nice story behind it and it's always nice to see people with genuine hearts achieve things like these, so far away from their homes!! The woman that served us was very kind and tried suggesting the best possible dishes for us since we've never had similar food before. We had an Egusi Soup with Amale, and also tried Jollof rice and Fried Plantains, as we wanted to try as many plates as possible. The portions were very decently sized so we couldn't finish everything, but took what was left, to go! As for the flavours, everything was truly excellent! It all had its own distinct flavour patterns, the amount of spices and how well they worked together is almost indescribable! The Egusi Soup was very pleasantly interesting, it felt like many different flavours clashing with one another. The amale acted like a force that tamed those flavours in a sense. It had a slightly sweet aftertaste, it was very very soft, almost cloudy in its consistency and it paired nicely with the soup. The Plantains were insanely good, the best way I can describe them, is to say that they are like bananas but with an attitude. Slightly sweet, slightly savoury, with a soft consistency and they paired really well with the hot sauce that they gave us. Lastly, the Jollof rice was exquisite, though I would have liked it even more spicy than it was. But I understand that they were just being safe with how spicy it was so that anyone could eat it!! As a side note, I will say that I definitely understand that food with such diverse flavours might not be for everyone, so do be careful if you are not used to food with lots of different spices. But if you're open to trying new things, it is most definitely worth it!! It was a very pleasant experience, all in all, and I'm very happy that we gave it a try. :^) Price per person: €10–15 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

While on a holiday at Athens,we visited wisdom kitchen ,to try African food ,we really enjoyed it,food was excellent and we really enjoyed it .I recommend that if passing by you should visit xxx Service: Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
