Absolutely delicious local gem with yummy katsu dishes, perfect pre hike meal with friendly grandmas working the kitchen. I ordered the ground pork katsu and gyoza, both were well seasoned. They even gave us a few side dishes! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: ¥1–1,000

Chances are if you are looking at this, you’re probably a foreigner like I am. I say this because this place is already populated with locals! Homely non pretentious place serving quality food that is also value for money. This sounds too good to be true, but it is true. I ordered myself the chicken cutlet set meal(900¥) and it’s served first with a trio of veg appetiser, followed by the main course accompanied by a side dishes and a cup of brewed tea. Everything was seasoned perfectly and they are not stingy with the portion as well. Chicken was fresh and not frozen. Would highly recommend for everyone, but it’s a pity they open only on Fri sat and sun for dinner. Maybe it’s not such a bad thing after all.
