I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough that I feel it’s warranted. We ordered three coffees, two tomato and cheese toasties, and an açai bowl. After placing our order, we waited over 50 minutes without receiving either our coffees or our food. What made the situation even more disappointing was watching a group of more than ten backpackers who ordered after us receive their açai bowls before ours had even been made. Delays can happen, but when customers who order later are consistently served first without any explanation, it’s hard not to feel completely overlooked. I approached the staff member who took our order (the young woman with long hair, blonde tips, and the “6725” tattoo on the back of her arm) to politely ask about the delay. Rather than apologising or looking into what had happened, she was dismissive and showed little interest in resolving the issue. There was no sense of urgency, no genuine apology, and no effort to communicate what had gone wrong. As a Broome local, this was especially disappointing. Businesses like Cable Beach House rely on locals to support them throughout the quieter months when the tourists have gone home. Yet during the peak dry season, when the venue is full of visitors, it felt like customer service and consideration for patrons had gone completely out the window. Locals notice when standards drop, and experiences like this make it difficult to justify returning once the tourist season is over. Good hospitality isn’t about never making mistakes—it’s about how those mistakes are handled. A simple apology, an update on our order, or even acknowledging the excessive wait would have gone a long way. Instead, we were left feeling ignored while other customers who arrived after us were served first. Cable Beach House has an incredible location, but unfortunately the service fell well short of expectations. Waiting nearly an hour for coffees, toasties, and an açai bowl, combined with poor customer service, made for a very disappointing experience (and we didn’t even receive what we ordered, as they had given the tomato cheese toasties to other customers and we were given whatever was left). I hope management takes a serious look at both the organisation of the kitchen and the standard of customer service being provided, because the venue is capable of much better than what we experienced. Hi Charlie, I am genuinely sorry to hear about your experience, and you are right this falls far below my expectations of the staff. I sorry you waited so long, with the Kiosk we never really go above 15 minutes maximum and that's just when the Acai machine needs to freeze down due to heavy use. I can't offer an explanation as to why it was 50 minutes, unless another customer picked up your order. Regardless the issue should have been addressed then and there and the issue resolved.
