I used to love to eat lunch at Zen. They had the best bento in town. Sadly the restaurant has been sold and the new owner has changed everything...and not for the better. It is awful. It is now like cafeteria food if your school offered sushi. Everything about it was bad. Don't waste your money.

Meant to put 4 stars. I am a food critic (Pen and Palate). This sushi is expensive. So not 5 stars. However, it is THE best sushi I have ever had and I grew up in Dallas. It is sushi taken to an art form.

I openly admit to being obsessed with my sushi. I have even gone so far as to travel to Japan to sate my curiosity (and hunger) for this good stuff. Zen Fusion Sushi & Bistro stands out as my favorite place to go locally when I want quality sushi. The food here has always been fresh and has always met my expectations. I am a fan of the cold tofu here, because this is the only place I have found (thus far) that does it properly. It is a great consistency, nicely dressed with the proper toppings and sauces. (Seriously, in other places, the cold tofu has been a block of tofu from the store unceremoniously cut up and plopped on a plate) I have eaten a variety of sashimi/nigiri/rolls, and enjoyed all of them. All of the items are fresh, the avocado is always pristine, and the plating is gorgeous! The chefs create custom specials, and those are always good when you want something out of the ordinary. Service has always been good, no problems at all. I have ordered carry-out many times, and the quality is maintained (it is plated very nicely, even inside plain styrofoam containers!).
