Our food took over an hour for takeout. Here’s what I think they do - we called it in 30 mins before going to pick it up. They didn’t even start on our food until we showed up and at that point there were 4 other newer orders that they put ahead of ours. Another guy waiting was also upset with how long it took. No apologies or empathy when I said something. Also I only wanted level 1 spice and they dumped so much spice I. The food we could hardly taste it. Rude service and food tastes like any other Thai-Vietnamese place in Des Moines. Go to DeRice or Cool Basil. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Zuzap has the best Thai food in the Des Moines area by far. I've been their customer for many years now, and they are consistently good. Every dish is highly flavorful, and I love the fact that they make an effort to cook many dishes in vegan and vegetarian style upon request. Many other Asian restaurants still do not provide this service, or their vegetarian versions are super bland and boring. That is never the case with Zuzap. Some of my favorite items here are the Tom Kha (Thai Coconut Soup), Panang Curry, Red Curry, Green Curry, Tom Yum Fried Rice, and Drunken Noodles. I've eaten spicy food since I was a kid, and I normally order level 3 spice at Zuzap because it is just right. Some days I'll go up to 4 or 5 if I'm in the mood for extra spice. My only minor criticism is that I wish they had a larger dining room as it got crowded very easily before the pandemic.
