I was in Zypher lounge with my partner for a dinner and we really enjoyed. We heard about Zypher from a friend of ours and booked a table. Communication was very smooth and quick. There was a manager and he took care of our table, very professionally, which gave us feeling that we are important for him/the company:-) Food was exceptionally good and atmosphere itself was really nice. Overall, my partner and I really enjoyed that cozy atmosphere, and definitely recommend. Thank you. Price per person: A$80–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

If you want to impress someone you’ve never met before, take them here. Saying that, my partner and I think this may be the most wannabe-rich, poser restaurant that we’ve been to in Perth. It’s made for selfies and instagram posts, not fine dining. For the (high) price point at Zephyr Lounge, the food is really not at the quality/level it should be. If you want specialised, high-class Japanese cuisine with a similar or better price point and atmosphere, we recommend James Parker instead. We ordered the kingfish crudo and the dressing was generic vinaigrette - there was no yuzu or ginger flavour. We also ordered the chicken karaage, which was about or below the tier you would expect from your general ramen restaurant (Bari Uma comes to mind as one that does better). Thirdly, the seafood gyoza was honestly indeterminate in flavour and texture (where was the black cod and prawns????), with what we thought was firm tofu throughout - which was not advertised. Overall, this was not bad per se, just (very) disappointing for the price. In terms of service, we had a question regarding the still water price (which was billed as 2x when we only asked for one bottle). We were met with annoyance, with the excuse being they have a new “bill per head” for still water. Unexpected but maybe detail that upon guest arrival/order. However, on a positive note! From what we had, Zypher does great cocktails. We think that this place is better for after parties or a cocktail night with the girls rather than fine dining. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
