I think it's obvious that the "v" in Bistro V stands for "VERY delicious". Dad & I had a great lunch today at Bistro V in Vestavia. We were both really impressed with the service & food. Though we arrived shortly after they opened, business was BOOMING. Here's what we enjoyed... I had the fish special of the day which was snapper. Snapper is my fav fish & Bistro V definitely did this dish justice. The fish was perfectly moist & flakey yet crisp on the outside. Served over summer squash, tomatoes, okra & corn & finished with a touch of limoncello. Absolutely divine. Dad had the combo lunch plate featuring grilled shrimp, fried oysters, sweet potato fries & marinated slaw. He said everything was fantastic. I tried a bite of shrimp & the sweet potato fries. The shrimp rivaled any you'd get from a restaurant right on the gulf. When reading reviews for Bistro V I saw that more than one person raved about the bread. I like bread as much as the next gal, but thought, "how good could it be?" Stupid thought because it was excellent. 100% worth mentioning. The atmosphere reminds me of a restaurant you'd see near the beach. Not that it's tropical...not even close. Just something about it gave me beach vibes. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. Thanks for a great dining experience &, Bistro V. You've most def been added to the rotation!
