Blow away!! Stumbled across D’or and had an absolutely amazing night. Food was Michelin start quality and service was humble and welcoming. The below pictures don’t do the food justice. The dessert of crepes with figs and cream was sensational. The restaurant interior is beautiful with great music, I felt relaxed as soon as I walked in. I felt so lucky to get in, restaurants like this are booked out for months in Sydney. This is a dinner I will always remember, what a special night! I visited d'or for dinner during my recent trip to Kyoto, but unfortunately, the experience was not as positive as I had hoped. When my party of three walked in and asked if there were any available seats, we were told by the bartender with brown curly hair that they only accept people with reservations. The response felt a bit dismissive and unfriendly, which was disappointing. This was the only time during our trip that we encountered such an attitude in a restaurant. All the other restaurants we visited in Kyoto were very nice and welcoming. While I had heard good things about the food at d'or, we ended up finding another restaurant nearby that treated us much better. Based on my experience, I would recommend calling ahead for reservations if you plan on dining at d'or. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
