itsumō TART is a cute Japanese-style dessert cafe in Batam with beautiful and aesthetic decorations. The whole concept feels very cozy and Japanese-inspired, making it a nice spot for photos and relaxing. One thing that felt a little confusing at first was the entrance area because there wasn’t any clear “welcome” sign, so we were unsure whether to just walk in or wait. The staff were okay and moderately welcoming. The cafe itself is very spacious with 2 levels, which makes it comfortable for hanging out and enjoying light desserts like soft serve and tarts. The desserts tasted good, but maybe because we had just eaten at another cafe before this, we were already quite full and slightly overwhelmed by sweets at that point One small thing to improve would be the side railings around the seating area because they looked a little dusty and dirty. Hopefully the staff can clean those areas more regularly since it was quite noticeable. Overall, still a nice cafe with reasonable prices and worth visiting if you’re cafe hopping around Batam! 4/5

Had the camembert cheese tart, signature cheese tart, and the camembert and honey ice cream. The camembert cheese tart was strong bodied but not overly jelak, while the signature cheese tart was much lighter and a tad bit sweeter as well. Both were nice and creamy, tart shell was well baked, not overly crumbly or soft. The ice cream was not very strongly cheesy, and more of a vanilla with a hint of camembert, possibly masked by the stronger honey taste. Overall a great dessert stop! Went at about 10.30 ish - 11am on a Sunday and didnt have to queue, but noted a queue building up quickly after we left abt 12pm onwards. Seating is limited but can accommodate larger groups as well, saw a few larger families here.

The unassuming facade is almost a decoy. From the outside, Itsumo Tart looks like a minimalist concrete box, but the moment you climb the short flight of stairs, you're greeted by an impressive interior that blends brutalist architecture with Japanese zen aesthetics. Easily one of the best-designed cafes in Batam. I arrived on a regular Monday morning shortly after opening and there were already a few customers inside, though the space is large enough that it still felt calm and unhurried. The cafe takes a bold approach by serving only tea while most cafes are riding the coffee wave. These aren't your supermarket teas, though—they carry premium brands such as TWG and Lupicia. On the staff's recommendation, I ordered the Sakurambo tea. Served cold in a generously sized bottle that's easily enough for 2–3 adults, it was refreshing with delicate floral aromas and gentle fruity notes. I can see why tea is the focus here; it complements the tarts without overpowering them. The Camembert Tart was excellent. The cream was silky smooth with subtle sweetness balanced by a light savoury note from the cheese, while the crust was crisp, buttery and crumbled nicely with each bite. I finished with the White Rice Miso soft serve. Not knowing what to expect, I was surprised that the sweetness was far more restrained than a vanilla soft serve, with a smooth, refined flavour profile that felt uniquely Japanese. If there's only time for one cafe in Batam, this should be very high on any list.
