We came because of the reviews and stayed for the charming company! Just a short walk from the main station...the exceedingly personable founders - fish Chef Fumi and his partner, Shihomi - left their jobs behind in Tokyo because they had a dream of opening up a place by the coast where they could welcome people while sharing a window into their lives and what they love. Well, with More Fish! they succeeded! During our stay in Kamakura, we returned to their table twice - trying a variety of the dishes on their menu - and would have continued if we stayed for longer. Honestly, all the dishes make my mouth water but I always have a soft spot for tuna and perfectly breaded/lightly crispy fish and chips. Chef Fumi took the time to take us through the locality of their ingredients (traditional raisin sandwiches!), their partnerships in produce (including quality coffee and teas!) and even to share his personal recommendations and secret spots in the area (ask about surf spots and a special ceremonial tea house). As they say, experiences in a city are always enhanced with "locals only". I would suggest visiting this restaurant when you want to feel like going over to hang on a friend's patio to enjoy a seriously delicious, comforting meal and interesting conversation.
