Just a short walk from JR Kyoto Station, Wamon is a fantastic izakaya that blends Kyoto’s culinary traditions with a modern touch. Their VIP Special Course was a delightful journey through flavors, featuring fresh sashimi, tender roast beef, crispy creative skewers, and comforting rice with seasonal ingredients. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with rich, umami flavors. The dessert was a visual and flavorful treat, rounding off the meal perfectly. The drinks selection was another highlight—I particularly enjoyed the barley shochu with hot water, a perfect winter drink, along with the smooth and warming hot sake. With its inviting atmosphere, high-quality ingredients, and excellent drink pairings, Wamon is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy Kyoto cuisine in a relaxed izakaya setting. Highly recommended!
