Honestly, we had the best night of our time in Japan here. Tanabe showed up and it showed up big in this place. We walked in quite late maybe 9.30pm and they welcomed us with open arms insisting we sit at the bar with the locals. The husband and wife team who run this place were excellent, so attentive kind and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious traditional Japanese food. They don’t have English menus but they helped us choose some things and told us what sauces to eat them with. The locals really held the atmosphere, talking to us in absolutely charming broken English with great relish about all sorts of things, especially jaguar cars and China. We honestly laughed from start to finish and had such a good time we didn’t want to leave. Would recommend this to anyone, it was such a fun experience and actually cost us nothing as they paid for our dinner! Incredible through and through.
