Enjoyed a lovely evening at Balangay for a birthday dinner and am so glad they are now in the neighborhood. If you haven’t visited yet, hurry on over! It will be well worth it whether you are celebrating something or simply want to try a new spot for dinner. We shared almost every dish on the menu and the staff was incredibly accommodating. One friend’s favorite was the smoked squash soup, while others really loved the ensaladang talong, an eggplant salad. While you cannot miss with the adobong chicken and the ginatang kalabasa with prawns, I was surprised by how much I also enjoyed the adobong kabute (adobo beans), a last minute addition to our order. An added bonus were the desserts at the end—a nice way to round out our dinner. Vegetarian options: Some of my favorite dishes from the evening were vegetarian!
