There's a red light along the small 1200 block of H Street NE. Open the door below it and walk up two flights of stairs to the third floor. Here, is Red Lantern, a cocktail bar inspired by the flavors of Asia. Sit at the bar or one of the small tables and order one of eight cocktails with names like Miso Whiskey Sour and Mango Sticky Rice. Each cocktail is between $15 and $16. My friend ordered the Lemongrass Pandan Gimlet and the Miso Whiskey Sour and enjoyed both. Each was unique and well balanced. Having a more sweet and sour palate, I started with the Pink Lantern and ended with the Mango Sticky Rice. Both were solid choices. The bartenders are very personable and knowledgeable. They also so karaoke. If you want a more unique cocktail bar experience, go here! The owners' friends own the sushi spot on the bottom floor in case you get hungry.
