Bring back the patatas bravas as a large slice to share please! Also, the cheesecake to share with the dark chocolate sauce, it was a delight! The carrot terrine was good last night, thank you for creating an inventive dish. Fish bland, toppings for flat bread uncooked and bland. We need Bodega back to what it was, giving you at its best, an inventive, delicious plate of food. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £80–90 Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot

Thank you - the carrot terrine and that cheesecake were two ex menu dishes we were genuinely proud of, so it's good to know they landed. But I won't skip past the rest: bland fish and a flatbread that came out underdone aren't us on a good night, and "bring Bodega back to what it was" is a line that stings, so I'm listening rather than defending. The kitchen will hear this in full. This review seems as if it was from quite a while back based on the dishes quoted, time for an updated view perhaps? Sorry to say this has gone down hill enormously since it opened. On our first few visits we loved everything, great cooking uses and food combinations. Fast forward a couple of years... Stingy portions sizes and badly cooked meat and fish and basic sauces. It's a shadow of what it used to be. Sorry to say that as I want it to be great and am happy to pay for great food. Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £70–80

Thank you for this, Jon - and I mean that, even though it's a hard read. When someone who loved BODEGA early on tells me it's slipped, that carries more weight than any first-timer, and I'm not going to brush it off. Portions, the cookery on the meat and fish, the sauces - that's the heart of what we do, and if those missed on your visit then the standard dropped, and that's on us. I'd genuinely like to know which night you came in so I can look at exactly what left the pass. Come back and let me cook for you again - I'd rather change your mind than argue with you.Benito @ BODEGA

This place is a gem!! We spent a month living at the apartments above Bodega, and ate there several times. Every single plate we ordered was very special, with layered and sophisticated flavors. My daughter is a Cordon Bleu trained chef, and this was by far her favorite place to eat in Cardiff. The staff was also wonderful - everyone was so friendly and lovely. An absolute must for anyone visiting the area! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40

What a thing to read - thank you. A month living above us and still choosing to come down and eat says a great deal more than any single visit could, and a Cordon Bleu-trained verdict is about the highest bar we're going to be held to.
