This is a take out drive through chicken stand. They do have picnic tables as well. But the seating is not the story. The chicken is fantastic! There was a line when we arrived and there were a few people waiting for orders, but the wait was worth it. The chicken was crispy, with a great savory taste. I would definitely recommend this place to those who love fried chicken. Dakota Broasted is on my top 5 list of chicken places I have visited. Unsuspecting small building entering into Custer. Also one of the few places to get prepared food to go in the area. As far as fried chicken, fried taters and coleslaw is considered... There's no shade to cast. They cook to order, tasted fresh and filled bellies of all generations. We apparently hit a rush hour at 430 on a Tuesday. The drive through can only handle two cars and walk up is same person. It took about 20 minutes to get our order. Would go back! Dakota Broasted Chicken was one of the best meals we had during our trip! The chicken was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and made with care. The portions were generous, the prices were reasonable, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. You can tell why this place has such a great reputation. The sides were just as delicious as the chicken, making for a fantastic meal from start to finish. If you’re in the area and looking for outstanding comfort food, I highly recommend Dakota Broasted. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town. Five stars all the way!
