We’ve been around the triangle area for several years now and hadn’t given this place a try until today for lunch. Food was reasonably priced and good. Staff was very friendly. Had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. Both were great. Plenty of seating. Staff did a great job of keeping the restaurant clean and clearing tables as we finished eating. Would absolutely go again, excited to try more of the menu. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I was very pleased to see how busy they were. The parking lot was packed, but the inside there was still plenty of room. I got a large bbq plate with Cole slaw and green beans. The bbq was outstanding, had a smokey flavor, they gave me two different types of sauce, the vinegar based sauce is the way to go for the pulled pork. They other sauce was thicker and sweeter I imagine it would go really well with their brisket. The Cole slaw was good and not overly sweet. I would highly recommend coming here if are looking for some good down home bbq and sides, their banana pudding is outstanding as well. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30

A True Taste of Carolina Hospitality and BBQ! If you're looking for authentic Carolina BBQ served with genuine warmth, look no further than Byrd's BBQ Restaurant & Catering! As a family-run business, the care and pride they put into their food and service truly shines through. From the moment we walked in, the owner was incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel right at home. His daughters were just as wonderful, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere. But let's talk about the star of the show: the BBQ! Having made the trip all the way from Yorktown, Virginia, specifically to get a taste of real Carolina BBQ before heading home, we were not disappointed. We ordered the BBQ plate and the brisket, and every single bite was amazing. It's safe to say we cleaned our plates! Of course, we couldn't leave without taking some extra with us – we got more BBQ, brisket, ribs, and, a must-have for any Carolina BBQ experience, their delicious coleslaw. Everything was incredibly yummy and packed with flavor. Beyond the fantastic food, the restaurant was also impeccably clean. It's clear that Byrd's BBQ takes pride in every aspect of their business. If you're in the Durham area or even passing through like we were, make the detour – you won't regret experiencing the delicious BBQ and the wonderful hospitality of Byrd's BBQ Restaurant & Catering. We're so glad we had lunch there and will definitely be recommending it to anyone craving real Carolina BBQ! JoAnne.
