We’ve been regular monthly customers at the Greyhound Inn ribs night for over a year and have spent a significant amount there during that time, so this was a really disappointing experience. On this visit, we booked in advance for a party of nine. The initial food took longer than expected, which we were happy to accept given it was a busy evening. However, after that we repeatedly requested additional servings of ribs over the course of the evening and despite asking multiple times and waiting over an hour, these did not arrive. At one point we overheard staff communicating about orders still being prepared, which suggested our requests had been missed or not prioritised. During the first serving, there was also an accident where hot food was spilled on multiple members of our group, resulting in a burn and requiring ice to be provided for one of us. There was no meaningful apology or follow-up at the time. When we raised our concerns, the initial response offered was a free round of drinks, which did not reflect the situation as we were still waiting for food we had ordered as part of an “unlimited ribs” night. During the discussion, we were told “we’ve already offered you a round of drinks” and when we explained that we had not received the service we paid for, a comment was made along the lines of “what do you want me to do, I can’t unburn her.” When this was later raised again, the response was effectively confirmed rather than clarified, which we found very dismissive in the context of the situation. After further discussion, the bill was eventually reduced by around £90, but this only came after a prolonged exchange rather than being offered as a resolution to the issues raised. Throughout the complaint process, we felt the responses were defensive rather than focused on resolving what had gone wrong. The owner also did not come to speak with us despite being on site. We have always enjoyed coming here and have never complained previously, even on occasions where the food quality wasn’t perfect. Because of this experience, we have unfortunately decided we will not be returning. We hope this was an isolated incident, but it has significantly affected our view of the restaurant. Had a meal there with friends this evening. While sat outside having drinks waiting for the food we noticed one of the locals continuingly throwing his dogs toy into the plants right next to where we had sat. We didn't think to much to it until we noticed one of the bar staff watching this happening.
It had turned a little cold so we changed places to one of the undercover brick stalls.

Food arrived and was really enjoyable, i can recommend the funky mushroom pizza...however half way through enjoying the meal the dog toy started flying over in our direction again. So half the distance it was travelling and in another direction.
While this is no refection of the food it is a reflection of the kind of staff employed that watches this happening and allows it to carry on.

We won't be going back.

Very poor food. Ate there last week. Ordered chicken satays. Was served two skewers each with four small pieces of dried chicken on. No satay sauce whatsoever or any sauce for that matter. Just because it is on a skewer doesn't make it satay chicken.Asked for chunky chips with main course was served what could only be described as a bowl of scraps.
