An eclectic menu probably best described as Asian Fusion - some wonderful combinations of flavors and tastes. We ordered several items and share everything. Atmosphere was chic, but comfortable. Service still has a few kinks but it's newly opened. Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5

I typically only post reviews when I’ve absolutely loved a place, whether expensive or a taco truck and we’ve traveled all over the world so have plenty of experience, but tonight, I’m making an exception! Make sure to check prices of drinks before ordering! So I appropriately calculated prices of food options, as I knew it wasn’t inexpensive, but when they didn’t have cold bottles of our first choice of Mexican beer, I asked, “what do you have that’s cold?” Mentioned Sapporo which I really like, and since it’s quasi Japanese food, said sounds fine. They did not mention it was about $20 USD per beer! That’s higher than cocktails in Paris! I’ve been a server and I would NEVER just skip over that little detail and not give my guests an informed decision to make. So the food itself was decent, and even though they did give a small discount due to my anger, I would not return. Also, check the price of bottled sparkling water as I understand that is high as well. We had 2 appetizers, one sushi roll, one entree, 3 Victoria beers, 2 Sapporos and before tip was over $100 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: MX$1,000+

I recently checked out ParrotFish Zona Romantica in Puerto Vallarta, and I've got some mixed feelings to share. It was good, but not quite great. Let's start with the positives: the pork bao was a hit and tasted pretty good. However, I can't say the same for the duck tacos, coconut shrimp, and sushi; they left me wanting more in terms of flavor and quality. What disappointed me even more was the cocktails – they just didn't hit the spot. To make things a bit more complicated, the service was slow, and there was some weird timing going on. I ordered everything all at once, but the dishes were prepared and brought out in a strange order, with odd gaps of time in between. It felt like this place is aiming for the upscale restaurant price range, but it's missing the fine details that usually come with that kind of pricing. The timing and overall service should definitely step up their game, especially considering the prices they're charging.
