We visited yesterday for dinner and unfortunately left very unimpressed. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue, a dish I know well and was really looking forward to. When it arrived, the taste was completely off — it had a strong Tom Yum flavour profile instead of the rich, spicy, lemongrass and beefy broth that Bun Bo Hue should have. I even double-checked with the waiter, and they confirmed it was supposed to be Bun Bo Hue. It honestly felt like a joke. The balance was all wrong and the depth of flavour you expect from this classic Hue dish was missing. The spring rolls were even more disappointing. At $18 for a small bowl, price wasn’t the main issue — the quality was. About 85% of each roll was just vermicelli noodles, with barely any mushroom (maybe 10%) and almost no pork (around 5%). They felt cheap, unbalanced, and like they were trying to stretch the ingredients as much as possible. Very poor value. Service was average and the place itself is okay, but for the prices they charge, the food quality needs to be much higher. Unfortunately we won’t be returning. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2

Pholklore is a beautiful establishment in Lorne with exquisite Vietnamese food. The spring rolls are to die for and the pho’s are endless for a choice. Would recommend for a chilly night over winter! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–40 Vegetarian options: Many options available. Mushroom to tofu and veggie spring rolls too.
